This is a work in progress I’ll update it as I get time…(12/22)

We cut down our tree on Sunday the 18th at Mountain Charlie’s Ranch. The exact location of the tree was 37.13624N 121.98828W the competing tree was at 37.13540N 121.98758W. It was a (rare) stroke of genius. I took the GPS with me as we walked around looking at the trees. When we found one that we liked, I would put it’s position in the GPS so we could return to the exact same tree. The only problem was that the system doesn’t like being off road. So it was difficult to get it to tell us which way to go to return to our trees.

We’re constrained on how early we go out by our middle daughter’s birthday. We want to have a delay from her early December (5th) birthday until we start into the Christmas season at full throttle. I figured I’d write down how much water [click to continue…]

How Much Does it Drink – 2015

October 19, 2017

This year the graph shows where the tree “died”. Notice the knee on the 1st & 2nd of January where the consumption drops precipitously. Up until then the usage was over 600ml/day. At that point it drops to about 100. I’m betting that most of that is simple evaporation. I’ve had a couple of interesting […]
